Pursuing sport and empowering athletes
I’ve had the privilege of representing both the Philippines (2019) and the USA (2024) on the world stage. The lessons I learned from touch rugby extend beyond the pitch— I strive to exemplify the values of teamwork, diligence, and perseverance in everything I do.

Lessons from the long road back
In November 2021, a torn ACL and meniscus at USA Nationals brought everything to a halt—surgery, 12+ months of rehab, and even a failed return-to-sport test.
My first tounament back was in 2023. Our team won the National Championship, and I was named MVP Winger.
The following year, being selected for the 2024 USA Women’s National Team felt like more than an athletic achievement: it was a personal triumph. We placed 6th out of 21 countries at the World Cup, better than any team in USA Touch history. Sport has taught me to push past my limits, trust my body again, and show up—grateful, grounded, and ready to compete at the highest level.
Touch changed the way I saw the world
I witnessed how transforming a group of people into a team requires shared dedication, collaboration, and diligence. I learned how to build on my teammates’ individual strengths to achieve a common goal.
Sport gives you every moment to prove yourself; I learned how to persevere through adversity and reframe losses as an opportunity for growth.
Empowering athletes
In the Philippines, a country where facilities are limited and funding is sparse, our efforts to become successful rely on strategic planning.
I sourced merchandising deals and financing sponsorships to provide a second set of uniforms and post-match pullovers for the 2019 team.
Forging a partnership with Fitness First provided multiple locations for team training. We repositioned Fitness First as an active supporter of touch football by marketing our #RoadtoTouchWorldCup.
